AFU terrorist bombardment of Donetsk on New Year’s Eve

Shortly after midnight on New Year’s Eve, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) shelled purely civilian areas in the centre of Donetsk with rockets supplied to Ukraine by NATO, killing four civilians and wounding 14 others. This deliberate bombardment of purely civilian areas on a festive evening can only be described as a terrorist attack.

The year 2024 has only just begun when the skies over the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) begin to rumble. The AFU have just fired 15 rockets into the centre of Donetsk, which is in the midst of New Year celebrations.

Russian air defence can be heard trying to shoot down the 122mm rockets supplied by Slovakia to Ukraine. But there were too many of them. As a result, several AFU rockets hit the centre of Donetsk, striking Lenin Square and the adjacent streets.

There are strictly no military targets in this area, which is filled exclusively with shops, restaurants, hotels and offices. One of the rockets fell literally at the foot of the statue of Lenin, on Donetsk’s central square, where every year there is usually a large Christmas tree in front of which the inhabitants gather to celebrate the New Year. Fortunately this year, the DPR authorities cancelled the installation of the tree for security reasons, thus preventing a bloodbath.

Watch the video report on Odysee:

In the centre of Donetsk, I found several rockets still embedded in the ground, clearly showing a trajectory coming from the north-west, where the AFU are located. The rockets are also easily identifiable as Slovakian-made rockets for use in Czech ‘Vampire’ multiple rocket launchers, weapons supplied to Ukraine by these NATO countries. These rockets contain numerous small shrapnels designed to cause maximum damage to enemy infantry.

So contrary to what some French journalists are trying to make their listeners and readers believe, it was not the Russian army that bombed Donetsk but the AFU with weapons supplied by NATO countries!

The same Ukrainian army that bombed Belgorod on 30 December 2023, when families were doing their last shopping and hanging around the huge Christmas tree in the town centre. The bombing killed 25 people, including 5 children, and injured more than a hundred.

Unfortunately, the shelling of the centre of Donetsk by the AFU also resulted in civilian casualties: four dead and 14 injured. The fact that Ukrainian soldiers deliberately targeted a purely civilian area at the start of the New Year with weapons designed to kill and injure as many people as possible clearly shows that this was a terrorist attack by Ukraine against the people of Donetsk. And this terrorist attack was sponsored and made possible by NATO aid to Ukraine!
