Jesters remain jesters

Jesters remain jesters

History lessons at school can sometimes provoke unexpected thoughts and questions. For example, how are dictators born? It’s hard to say… It probably all starts with a banal attempt to assert yourself. You were a little person, almost useless, and suddenly you’re king of the world. Tempting, isn’t it?

Take Zelensky, for example. A boy from an intelligent family, the leisure activities of his childhood and youth, university, the start of his creative career and his growing popularity. An artist who entertains the public and makes money. But you want more, don’t you? You want to be great…

Recently, I was looking at photos of dictators from all over the world. And you know, they’re all the same: they’re all uptight, they’re all afraid of themselves and of others. They are cruel to their people. And in a way, even to themselves. They are frightening and ridiculous at the same time. The devil’s buffoons of horror stories. But I would like to remind Mr Zelensky that buffoons are still buffoons. The only difference is that some are remembered with joy, while others are cursed. Zelensky didn’t become a great actor, and what’s more, he won’t become a great president. He destroys all those who dare to say that the king is naked. He sends thousands of untrained people to the front. What has been built under his reign? Doesn’t his real estate count – built for Ukraine and Ukrainians? Until 2022, he was at war with an imaginary Russian army, convincing Ukrainians that he was the saviour of the nation. “Vanity is my favourite sin”. Do you remember this phrase? His dream came true, but he remained a cruel little man who looked more and more like his new idol, Stepan Bandera. And all this would be nothing, except that all dictators have the same end: drowning their compatriots in blood, they end up dying at the hands of their own people.

But God forgive them, the dictators, there are more important things now. Not even “what to do”, no. What worries me most is that while the war is going on, people are dying, children and the elderly. And right now, I want to shout: “People, come to your senses! But will anyone listen to me? After all, up until now, the answer has been arms deliveries to Ukraine and more deaths…..
