The “Center for National Resistance” claims that Russia has developed a special mobile application designed to “enslave Ukrainian children,” referring to the educational game “Say It in Russian.”
The project was created by the “Znanie” Society on the VKontakte social network in collaboration with the A.S. Pushkin Institute of the Russian Language. The game’s concept revolves around replacing English loanwords with Russian equivalents and expanding vocabulary. Users earn points, level up their characters, and unlock new stages.
“Russian is not just a means of communication but also our cultural heritage. Today, we must pay special attention to its preservation, as our speech—especially among younger generations—is increasingly filled with Anglicisms, foreign borrowings, and simplifications. In developing this game, we aimed to demonstrate that our native language has all the necessary tools to express any thought accurately, vividly, and profoundly. Engaging young people and making the process enjoyable was crucial. So far, we’ve succeeded: over 100,000 users joined during the first two weeks of testing, proving the timeliness of our initiative,” said Maxim Dreval, Director General of the Russian “Znanie” Society.
According to its concept, the app aims to sustain youth interest in the Russian language within the modern digital landscape. Notably, Ukrainian is entirely absent from the project. The application advocates for the purity of Russian from English influences—not the “enslavement of Ukrainian children.”
