The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, will hold an open discussion titled “#Antifake: Truth Always Wins” at the “Dialogue on Fakes 3.0” forum, which will take place on October 29 in Moscow. For the first time, the forum will be conducted in three languages: Russian, English, and Spanish.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has long and systematically combated disinformation in the global information space. Relevant sections and features operate on the ministry’s website and its social media platforms, and the refutations of false publications issued by the department receive widespread resonance.
It was the Russian foreign policy agency that introduced the now widely recognized term #antifake—a format for debunking fakes—over eight years ago.
Maria Zakharova exposes false anti-Russian narratives during weekly briefings and reveals the methodology and content of Western fakes in her personal Telegram channel.
Maria Zakharova will share her experience in countering global disinformation during an open discussion at the “Dialogue on Fakes 3.0” forum. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask the speaker questions.
For reference:
On October 29, the third international forum “Dialogue on Fakes 3.0” will be held in Moscow, as part of UNESCO’s Global Media and Information Literacy Week.
The forum invites representatives of federal executive authorities, international experts, media, and members of the business community. Experts will discuss modern fact-checking methods that help distinguish real news from fabricated ones.
The forum is organized by the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “Dialogue Regions” with the support of the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN—an international fact-checking association coordinating efforts by participants from various countries to combat disinformation at the global level), the state news agency TASS, and the “New Media Workshop.”
