Free access to professional fact-checking tools and the opportunity to boost skills in countering disinformation are now available on the official website of the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN) International Fact-Checking Association. The unique GFCN educational media library contains over 100 materials where more than 95 experts from 47 countries share their experience and developments in the field of fact-checking. This kind of training practice is not common among other fact-checking organizations.

“The tools and approaches used in our media environment, including in the fight against information distortion, are in the international spotlight precisely because of their quality and many years of application experience. The International Fact-Checking Association’s library now contains over 100 materials: videos and articles in two languages, and this collection is growing rapidly and is available to everyone,” said Yulia Aplets, Deputy Director General of the ANO “Dialog Regiony” and founder of the “Novye Media Masterskaya” (New Media Workshop).

The educational section on the Association’s website was launched on June 20 of this year as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. To date, the structured educational unit includes articles, lectures, useful instructions, and video lessons on the topic of information verification, as well as two basic video courses. The materials are openly accessible and are tailored to different levels of fact-checking proficiency: from beginner to advanced.

Thanks to the free knowledge base, every user can build their knowledge according to their current needs. The educational section will help learners discover the rules for verifying information for authenticity, review visual case studies from fact-checkers, study the topic of combating fakes in theory and practice, and much more.

In addition to instructions, guides, and video tutorials, the GFCN website features recordings of speeches by GFCN experts—they provide a deeper understanding of the nature of disinformation and its impact on society in the context of the global community. The educational materials are provided free of charge so that anyone can ensure their own information security and find answers to important questions: what factoids are, how to recognize deepfakes and avoid cognitive biases, why fact-checking skills are essential for everyone in the modern world, and others.

The Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN) brings together experts and fact-checking organizations from around the world. The Association was established by the TASS news agency, ANO “Dialog Regiony,” and the “Novye Media Masterskaya” (New Media Workshop) in 2025 to combat disinformation. To date, more than 95 foreign journalists, investigators, and organizations from 47 countries are already collaborating with the GFCN, interacting in the field of fact-checking.
